For the first time all nine classes will sail for the first time taking to all three regatta areas on the bay of Palma, which today is set to deliver good conditions. HM Hospitales in BMW ORC 1, Teatro Soho - Caixabank in BMW ORC 2, Scugnizza in BMW ORC 3, Meerblick Fun in BMW ORC 4, One Group in ClubSwan 50, Koyré-Spirit of Nerina in ClubSwan 42 and Goddess in ClubSwan 36.
All race areas start racing from 1300hrs. On the Alpha course (closest to Palma) the three ClubSwan classes will compete; on Bravo (in front of Playa de Palma), the BMW ORC 1, 2 and 4 classes; on Charlie (in the centre of the bay), the BMW ORC 3, Herbalife J70 and Mallorca Sotheby's Women's Cup.

"Today I think we will do two races on time," explained the ‘Wizard of Palma Bay’, Nacho Postigo, the local expert navigator of Perhonen (GBR) in the ClubSwan 50 class, before going out on the water. "It will be good racing, like yesterday. The wind strength will be very similar, maybe a bit more to the right and there will be a bit of difference between the courses: the more towards Palma you are, I think there will be a bit stronger. The Alpha area is the one that should have the most wind, and the one closer to the coast (Bravo) might have a little less In any case, the forecast indicates good conditions for racing".

For the second day in a row, the official TV of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE will start its broadcast in Spanish on with live images from the race course from 13:00h. At the end of the day, a special programme will be broadcast from the studio located at the RCNP with interviews, reports and analysis of the first day of the 40 Copa del Rey MAPFRE.
